A dedicated maternity center was inaugurated in Ayssaita City, Afar region by His Excellency Mr. Yasin Habib, Head of the Regional Health Bureau on October 21st in the presence of senior leadership from ACSIS, Dr. Berhanetsehay Tekelewold, and Dr. Ishmael Shemsedin. The center, which is the first of its kind for the region, was redesigned and renovated with the collaborative engagement of the regional health bureau and ACSIS. It is hoped that the center will play a significant role in making quality maternal care accessible to Ayssaita, its vicinity, and the region at large.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Yasin highlighted the center’s importance in the provision of quality maternal care that is accessible to the community and congratulated all who were involved in making this a reality. During an on-site visit, mothers and attendants expressed their gratitude for the renovated and easily accessible maternity center, emphasizing the positive change it has brought to their lives. ACSIS takes immense pride in contributing to this noble cause and will continue to work with the hospital management to continuously improve maternal care processes. Ayssaita Maternity Center stands as a testament to our firm conviction that through system redesign and stakeholder collaboration, it is possible to deliver quality and person-centered care to those who most need it.
