In a momentous event on November 8th, 2023, ACSIS (Healthcare System Impact Syndicate Africa) proudly participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Semera Comprehensive Specialized Hospital. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of His Excellency Mr. Awel Arba Unde, the President of the Afar Region, Mr. Yassin Habib, Head of the Regional Health Bureau, and Mr. Abdu Musa, the Mayor of Semera/Logia City Administration.

The Hospital is an ambitious project that aims to provide high-quality healthcare services to millions of people from Afar, and neighboring regions. Recognizing the significance of this endeavor, ACSIS was honored to lend its expertise in the design of the hospital's architectural layout.

During the ceremony, Dr. Ishmael Shemsedin, the Program Director at ACSIS, delivered a presentation on the hospital's design, highlighting the guiding principles that shaped its development. These principles included a problem-based, value-oriented, and person-centered design approach, which took into account a baseline assessment and sought to capture and understand the culture, climate, and lifestyle of the community. With these principles in mind, ACSIS meticulously crafted a customized layout for the construction.

The event symbolized the realization of the vision of accessible and quality healthcare becoming a reality. ACSIS remains committed to supporting this transformative project and eagerly anticipates witnessing the positive impact it will have on the communities it serves.
