About Us

Healthcare System Impact Syndicate Africa (ACSIS) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening Ethiopia’s health system through evidence-based, scalable and sustainable interventions; solutions designed not only to transform health outcomes locally, but also to be adapted and scaled across Africa. Our primary focus is on maternal, reproductive and primary healthcare, with a goal to ensure that every patient, particularly mothers, receives high-quality, timely and respectful care.

ACSIS is driven by a deep commitment to equity, ensuring that health services reach the most underserved communities and that every individual has access to safe, affordable and effective care. Our work is grounded in evidence-based practice, drawing from global best practices and local realities to design interventions that are both contextually relevant and operationally practical. Through systems thinking, we address health challenges not as isolated issues but as parts of an interconnected system, linking service delivery, governance, financing and community engagement to create lasting impact.

A key pillar of ACSIS’s approach is primary care optimization; redirecting value, focus and resources toward the foundation of the health system. We strengthen primary healthcare units by integrating and supporting improvement of essential maternal, newborn and reproductive health services and enhancing data use for decision-making. By building the capacity of frontline providers, introducing innovative models such as task-sharing and digital supervision, and improving referral linkages, we ensure that care is delivered closer to where people live reducing delays, costs and preventable complications.

Through strong collaboration with government authorities, professional associations, and communities, ACSIS co-designs and implements solutions that are owned by local systems and sustained beyond project timelines.

Through this comprehensive, integrated approach, ACSIS contributes to a stronger, more responsive health system that delivers equitable, high-quality care to all.

Introduce innovative care design through iterative guided practice, continuous learning and policy impact research at all level of the health system to co-produce health and confidence in healthcare across Africa.

Leading Africa into a future of quality healthcare for all through innovation, person-centered design and co-production.
